This week presents a great lesson on the hazards of calling a specific “top” in the stock market. Although the S&P 500 saw a minor sell-off last Tuesday, it’s already back in recovery mode, gaining for the third consecutive trading day as of Thursday.

Wow, it’s been a busy week. The S&P 500 saw its largest decline in five months on Tuesday. Meanwhile, gold and precious metal prices held their own — even gaining in the midst of the mild downturn. Our portfolio is moving as well, and I’ve received a number of interesting questions in the mailbag.
