These 4 Super Stocks Will Save Your Portfolio

As you read this, I’m embarking with my 13-year-old son on a hike on the Appalachian Trail.

We’re only doing a “section hike” during our vacation, or about 70 miles’ worth. The plan is to hike from Georgia’s Springer Mountain — the Southern Terminus of the trail in the middle of the Chattahoochee National Forest — to the North Carolina border for a couple of weeks.

You might assume I’m nervous about spending time out there in the wilderness.

But not really. My son’s quite the hiker already. We’re experienced. We know the terrain.

To be honest, I’m excited for both of us.

Unlike my settled beachside Florida suburb, you never know what you’re going to encounter over the next hill.

Fact is, I’d rather embrace that sense of adventure than fear it (if I’m using good sense, that is).

In life as in investing, we’re going to suffer our share of scrapes and disappointments.

Sometimes those setbacks are financial, like when the stock market takes a tumble.

Overcoming those setbacks — not allowing ourselves to be defeated, and to achieve our goals despite roadblocks set in front of us — is what life is all about, in my opinion.

So, if there’s one investing message I hope you will remember, that’s it.

Keep fighting to achieve your financial goals, through the ups and downs of the stock market.

Keep looking for that next great stock to own. Frequently, they’re found in places where people tell you not to bother looking — or dismiss as inconsequential.

So, for this month’s issue, I decided to look at four of our current stocks that have been overlooked at some point by Wall Street — but are handing us supersized gains.

These include:

  • Our health care play that’s beating Amazon at its own game.
  • A research company that Wall Street is finally catching on to.
  • Our home decor stock that could survive a future economic downturn.
  • A drone maker that could see its earnings per share soar by 70% over the next few years.
