Americans are not happy. Well, we’re considerably less happy than we were at the turn of the century. According to a recent survey, 53% of Americans describe themselves as “happy” or “very happy,” down from 56% in 2009 and 68% in 2001.
And is it any wonder? Sixty percent of Americans have no emergency savings or less than $1,000 tucked away. Fifty percent of Americans report they’ve experienced a major stressful event in the past year.
Paychecks in America have stagnated and yet costs are still rising. We’re starting to once again see an uncomfortable increase in layoff announcements and the government continues to rack up debt — so far $18 trillion and counting — with no plans to reduce it.
The America that we once knew and loved has changed … and too many people don’t see it as having changed for the better. But there are ways to reclaim that happiness and secure your future…
The American Dream has changed from that perfect trifecta of good job, nice home and a family to simply holding a steady job and not taking on too much debt. The dream has changed from working hard to achieve a better life to just holding on to what you have now.
Without the American Dream — the drive for bigger and better — constantly spurring on Americans, the country is in financial danger. But that doesn’t mean that you have to put your hard-earned assets in danger too.
The Sovereign Society has drawn together approximately 30 experts to The Bahamas for our annual Total Wealth Symposium. During the next few days, they will present their outlook not only for the U.S. economy but for the global economy, as well as thoughts on some of the best investment opportunities, ways to protect your privacy and great tips on what you need to know if you’re considering moving offshore.
And I get to be your guide…
The Secrets of Atlantis
This is my second Total Wealth Symposium but my first trip to The Bahamas, and I couldn’t be more excited. There’s a buzz in the air as people register and get ready for the opening remarks later today. I’ve heard whispers of attendees looking forward to listening to and meeting some of our experts such as Jeff Opdyke, Ted Bauman, Bob Bauman, Geoff Anandappa, Juan Fischer and many more.
We are kicking off this year’s conference as the world is engulfed in more turmoil and chaos. The Federal Reserve is unable to raise rates without crippling our economy, unrest is growing in the Middle East, cheap oil is crushing many oil producers around the world and our privacy is being chipped away more and more each day.
But our experts have the answers that you’re looking for when it comes to protecting your investments against the market weakness headed our direction, as well as steps to guarding your wealth and protecting your privacy.
In fact, later today Jeff is going to take a look at the opportunities created by China’s recent currency devaluation and the upcoming Fed rate hike. Ted will be talking about what it takes to live a sovereign life while Bob will chat about why going offshore is more important now than ever before. Eric Roseman from ENR Asset Management will take a look at global investing, and Brad Deflin of Total Digital Security will talk about advanced privacy solutions for individuals and families.
And that’s all just in the first day!
Don’t Miss a Minute
Over three days, there will be more than 30 panels covering topics ranging from investing offshore, asset protection solutions such as trusts, second residence and citizenship opportunities, real estate investments, quiet wealth vehicles such as collectibles and precious metals, and so much more.
I’ve already enlisted the assistance of two other people to help me take notes, but I still won’t be able to cover all the great information that will be presented over the next few days. That’s why it’s critical that you pre-order your copy of the Total Wealth Symposium Defense Kit. The Defense Kit contains videos of the presentations as well as the PowerPoint presentations.
With the Defense Kit, you’ll be able to get the information presented at the conference at just a fraction of the cost of those who actually flew to The Bahamas. Watch the presentations from the comfort of your home. You’ll be able to pause and re-watch sections so you can be sure that you have accurate notes before you act.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a recap of this afternoon’s presentations.
