Trade Alert: 2 New Trades

Today, the Stock Trader Alert system triggered another pair of trades for us: Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) is leaving the portfolio and will be replaced by CVS Health Corp. (NYSE Arca: CVS).

Overall, the portfolio continues to outperform the broader market, with our 10 stock positions up nearly 11%.

By contrast, our hedge in the SPDR S&P 500 ETF (NYSE Arca: SPY) is down about 1.33%, and that’s fine.

Remember, this position simply gives us a chance to magnify our returns during a bullish market. Our system hasn’t triggered a new ETF position — we’re always either long or short the S&P 500 with our ETFs. So we’ll continue to hold this position for greater gains until our system tells us a short position is more prudent. (For more information on returns, see our backtesting data and the full portfolio history.)

If you have any questions about this part of the system, please drop me a line at stocktrader@banyanhill.com.

In light of the recent geopolitical turmoil — especially with the French election potentially dictating the direction of the EU — you can see how having the reassurance of the Stock Trader Alert system provides peace of mind in these tumultuous times. And I expect the portfolio to continue this performance no matter what the French decide.
